Tax Certificate Sale

 

On Friday, May 30th we will have our fourth electronic (on-line) tax certificate sale. 

 

The delinquent taxes will be advertised three times, Friday May 9, 16, 23, 2008 in the Daily Sun Newspaper per Florida Statue 197.402.   

 

On-line credit card payments will become inactivated April 29th at 4:00 PM. due to advertising in the Daily Sun.  The credit card payment will be reactivated on May 7th at 4:00 PM through May 19, 2008, until 9 A.M. 

 

 On-line credit card payments will become inactivated May 19th at 9:00 A.M. until tax sale is finalized.  The tax amounts will not be updated on line until tax certificate sale is finalized.   For correct amounts please feel free to call this office at (352) 793-0260. 

 

Bid totals owed will be given out after the tax sale is balanced.   When the sale is balanced, we will contact all bidders with their amount due.  Bidders will have “48 hours or 2 business days” to wire transfer the settlement amount.   

 

If you do not bid, your deposit will not be reimbursed until after the sale is balanced.

Business Tax License/Occupational License

In accordance to Sumter County Ordinance 2007-01 The Sumter County Tax Collector’s Office will abolish the sale of Business Tax License, formally known as Occupational License on July 31, 2007. This issue was voted on and passed by the Sumter County Board of County Commissioners on January 9th, 2007.
